Found 3" vent that looks nice

3" Z-Vent Fresh Air Hood w/ Mesh Screen

Found this 3" vent that looks nice at Amazon.  Ordered it on sight.  Includes screen, long enough pipe to go through finished brick wall.  Stainless steel looks nice and doesn't need painting.  Rated for use with heating equipment!  Much less expensive than 6" stainless vents I've seen.  Since it's only 3 inches in diameter, it's not a huge energy waster like 6" would be, and I think this is all a 150 sqft space needs for continuous passive ventilation.  Mounted just below ceiling, it may also drain off any hydrogen that happens to get out of AGM battery.  Z-Flex also offers a huge number of accessories, including a 3 to 4 inch adapter, but no dampers (as these are intended for heating equipment).

Decided to order second one too.  Both mounted at ceiling height on two sides, they will provide a limited crossflow ventilation, suffient to exhaust outgassing (including from AGM battery) without influencing temperature much.  Each should be covered with a bent metal plate to protect the vent itself from heating up due to solar radiation.  Each will penetrate through one row of brick, possibly by cutting brick or displacing slightly, so no lentil needed I hope.

Downsides might be that too small to provide enough ventilation, or may indeed influence temperature negatively, or cause whistling noise.

At considerably higher price, Luxury Metals offers fresh air wall vents in sizing ranging from 3" to 8", in stainless, copper, or galvanized.  They state 26 gauge (I would think luxury would be more like 20 gauge).  They only make their pipes 8.5 inches, however, not seemingly aware that framed brick walls are almost 10 inches.  They also have Wind Guard version with spring closure.  But that's exactly what I don't want, I want this vent to either have manual damper or no damper at all.  With a 3" vent, I think no damper is needed, actual airflow is minimal, just enough to bleed off outgassing and keep air reasonably fresh inside.
