Seeing an ad for Boxabl prefabricated homes I thought to myself, how do they do drains? Well, they have side discharge drains for easy installation. This requires different ways of doing drains internally, and special toilets in particular. With my bad experiences with under house drains, I now fully expect some major change like this will be the future. Underground drains never really made any sense from a long term maintenance perspective. This is a fundamental fault in the slab on grade house building method, which has other issues too, including being very vulnerable to expansive soils and erosion.
